The New Hampshire Union Leader is reporting that First District Rep. Carol Shea Porter will be endorsing Sen. Barack Obama in the New Hampshire primary. If this is true, Shea Porter joins fellow Rep. Paul Hodes, of the Second District, in endorsing Obama.
This could be a late effort to circle the wagons around one of the other top candidates to keep Sen. Hillary Clinton from the nomination. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. Half the party fears that Clinton will be the nominee and they are trying to do something about it. The other half of the party thinks she is inevitable and they have been jumping on the bandwagon for months just to CYA.
Frankly, Shea Porter is closer to Rep. Dennis Kucinich or former Sen. Mike Gravel politically than she is to Obama. And, politically, former Sen. John Edwards would have been a better choice. But, whatever, everyone can vote for whomever they want to. Let the crap fall where it may. It is amazing that it is only a month away.
