Huckabee by 11, Dems real close

I'm working late but here are some early results. NPR, ABC, and Drudge are calling Iowa for Mike Huckabee by 11 percent, with 34. Romney is second with 25. Thompson, McCain and Paul are virtually tied for third.

For the Dems, it's Obama with 34 and Edwards and Clinton at 31-plus percent. The rest are hard behind.

Exit polls show Obama drawing huge youth numbers; Clinton doing well with 60-plus and Edwards drawing unions and late X-er/younger boomer numbers. Health care is the most important issue for most Dem voters. Big evangelical turnout with many of them suggesting that they are sick and tired of being taken advantage of the corporate side of the party, according to exit interviews.

DailyKos has some numbers:

Dems:

1,000 of 1,781 districts reporting

Obama 34.52
Edwards 31.61
Clinton 31.13
Richardson 1.69
Biden 0.98
Dodd 0.04
Uncommitted 0.03

GOP:

450 of 1,781 districts reporting

Huckabee 35
Romney 24
Thomspon 14
McCain 12
Paul 11
Giuliani 4

Quick thoughts: On the GOP side, I don't expect that Thompson will drop out at this point and good numbers for McCain, considering his positions. On the Dem side, hey, what can you say? Obama won but not by much. It's essentially a three-way tie. On both sides, it is anyone's game.

And, once again, my predictions are all over the map.
