Job fight - Immigrants vs. natives:
Interesting column in the Boston Globe this morning by Charles Stein ["Undercurrent of anger as immigrants gain jobs"]. While it is a little milquetoast, it is nice to see this issue finally getting discussed. Many of us thought it was a bad idea to allow thousands of immigrants into the country to work in software jobs in the first place. Instead, the thousands of Americans who were already unemployed in the 1990s should have been trained [or retrained] to fill those jobs first. It is simple economics and promotes nation self-sufficiency. Now, the people who were born here, are paying the price for the insane open border/free trade/internationalist policies of the corporate American elite of both political parties. I guess we can now understand what the Indians went through.
